Peter Carswell (PhD).
Peter is an organisational psychologist with a PhD in organisation science. He is a director at Synergia and based in our Auckland office.
One of Peter’s specialist areas in in developing high performing networks across agencies for effective integrated care. In this work he builds partnerships with clinicians, managers, and service users to look at evidence of what is effective. He then helps the agencies to implement and evaluate the new service model.
As an organisational psychologist, Peter has a broad range of experience analysing organisational challenges and developing effective solutions. Recently he has worked with government agencies, public healthcare provider, private business, and NGOs across New Zealand, Australia, and Canada in helping them improve processes of innovation and change.
Some of Peter’s recent projects over the last year include: leading the development of a national approach for growing clinical leadership amongst resident doctors (Resident Doctor Association); advising the NSW Government on how to respond to the implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet); leading the development of a model of care for child and youth mental health in Sydney (Central and Eastern PHN).
Outside of Synergia, Peter can be found either on or under the water where he enjoys his passions of surfing, fishing and diving.
